Dr. George Solomon of Solomon Cosmetic Center explains why he does not perform Buttock Implants, but rather focuses on today’s cutting edge and minimally invasive procedures such as Fat Transfer to the Buttocks.
I do not do buttock implants because of the popularity of the fat transfer to the buttocks and the minimally invasive procedures. It’s less risky than the buttocks. The other thing too is the buttocks implant has a high complication rate because of it’s proximity to the rectum. So, the infection rate sometimes can be higher. Mostly, a lot of physicians now and surgeons, they go into the buttock augmentation because they get very similar results or sometimes even better with the fat transfer. The only thing that would, benefit, I would say, the people that would be definitely a candidate for a buttock implant, would be the people that have no fat whatsoever. Then, if you cannot get enough fat, then it’s hard to re-inject it.
Fat Transfer utilizes a patients own fat to not only augment the buttocks, but to sculpt the buttocks and surrounding area. This is done by performing liposuction to remove fat from one area of the body and then re-injecting a patients own fat back into the desired area of augmentation. Dr. Solomon performs both liposuction and fat transfer in his own surgical suite at Solomon Cosmetic Center located in Palm Harbor, FL. The is a convenient drive for anyone living in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, and largo.
