Six-Pack Liposculpture, has shown to be an effective procedure to define abdominal muscles, sculpting the appearance of a six pack contour in the abdominal area. Many men and women devote a large portion of their exercise routine to building abdominal muscles that give a toned and fit appearance. However, even with exercise, not everybody can achieve that athletic six-pack definition. Due to body type and genetics, some people find it difficult to increase the definition of abdominal muscles even with strenuous abdominal exercises. For this reason, Dr. George Solomon performs Six-Pack Liposculpture for patients who want a naturally toned look.

Candidates for Six-Pack Liposculpture
Individual results may vary.
The ideal candidate for abdominal etching is an athletic individual with already pronounced abdominal muscles – and just a few persistent pockets of fat covering up the underlying washboard. The procedure is not limited to such patients, some of our patients request this procedure following a tummy tuck or abdominal liposuction to really make their abs stand out. This procedure may be the final step in a dramatic transformation or the extra help you to achieve the look you’ve always wanted.
This should not be the first step if you’re significantly overweight or think it’s a quick cure to battle the bulge. In fact, the ideal abdominal etching candidate should be physically fit and have naturally athletic-looking abdominal muscles but with relatively small pockets of fat in the abdominal area. If your total body fat is more than 18 percent, you are likely not an appropriate candidate for abdominal etching.
About the Procedure
The Six-Pack Liposculpture procedure usually takes only an hour, and can be performed as an outpatient procedure under either local or general anesthesia. Before surgery, Dr. Solomon will outline the abdominal muscles and use these lines to serve as a guide during surgery. During the procedure, several small incisions are made in the naval or the natural creases of the abdomen, where they are inconspicuous. A cannula, or a flexible tube, is then inserted through the incisions to sculpt the abs by removing excess fat along the lines of the patient’s abdominal muscles. The four or five remaining scars are very small – only about an eighth or a quarter inch in length.
Aftercare and Recovery
Six-Pack Liposculpture is an outpatient procedure allowing patients to go home the same day and return to work within 2-5 days. Following the procedure, expect some pain, swelling and bruising, all of which can be managed with medications and proper care. Dr. Solomon will fit you with a medical compression garment that you must wear for about three to six weeks. This will help minimize swelling. He will also provide specific instructions about what you can and cannot do in the days and weeks following the procedure. This includes not lifting anything that weighs 10 pounds or more. Each week following abdominal etching, the six pack definition of the abdomen will become more and more obvious until final results are achieved 2-3 months later.
