Dr. Solomon describes the various types of Liposuction on the market today.
“There are several ways of doing Liposuction. You can do what we call a suction-assisted liposuction, where basically you have a cannula, you attach that to a suction tubing, and then a suction machine and then after you do the anesthesia you can start suctioning. There’s also another way that’s called Power-Assisted Liposuction where you use a machine that osculates and breaks the fibers in between the fat cells and then you’re able to remove the fat. And then, lately, there have also been the Laser-Assisted and I’m sure a lot of people have heard of the term, SmartLipo, or Slim Lipo, or Lypo Light. These are laser machines supposed to coagulate the blood vessels, melt the fat cells, and then you’re able to remove these fat cells with a smaller cannula. And then, most recently there is also the Vaser, which is a ultrasound basically cannula that is also introduced using ultrasound technology and it also does the same or similar things like the laser, but with the ultrasound. I believe in my opinion it is a little bit more efficient and more accurate and you can use that with people that have fibrous fat and hard fat to remove.”
