Laser Hair Removal
For removing hair from the face, abdomen, legs, bikini line, back, chest, Solomon Cosmetic Center located in the Tampa Bay area, recommends laser hair removal. This treatment involves using a laser to remove hair and permanently reduce hair growth.
As an alternative to shaving, waxing, hair removal creams, and plucking, laser hair removal causes less irritation.
In order to slow hair growth, laser hair removal treatments damage individual hair follicles. While the number of treatments that are needed can vary, many patients are required to get four to six treatments before they notice the full results.
Because treatments are only effective during the hair growth phase, treatments are typically scheduled a few weeks apart from each other.
Although you may experience a little bit of discomfort while you are getting a laser hair removal treatment, that can be minimized with a topical anesthetic.
Because laser hair removal is not a cosmetic surgery procedure, you do not need to do anything special to prepare for this procedure, but you will need to avoid the sun for a few weeks before your procedure. Excessive sun exposure can tan your skin, and if you get a tan, then you will have a greater risk of developing unpleasant side effects. Additionally, you will need to avoid waxing, plucking or using electrolysis before you get laser hair removal.
You may notice some redness and swelling after you get your procedure, but this should be minimal and will usually go away within a few hours. You can reduce the discomfort by applying Aloe Vera to the treated area. Furthermore, you will need to limit sun exposure after you get this treatment.
Laser hair removal is a permanent method of removing hair but some people experience some re-growth after awhile. Much of this is determined by the color and thickness of the hair initially. Even so, it is usually minimal and would probably only require one or two more treatments.
