How does fat transfer work?

Fat transfer can transform the body by removing fat from an area and depositing it into another area of the body that needs fullness. Watch this video where Dr. George Solomon, board certified cosmetic surgeon, explains how fat transfer works:

“The way we do the fat transfer, we do an evaluation of the patient. We find out where there are some areas of adiposity or some fat in the area. And then we sculpt the body, take all the fat from that area, and then harvest it. We have a closed system, where it harvests the fat without being exposed to the air. Then we turn around and then bring that fat back out of the container and re-inject it into the buttocks, or the area that needed the fat transfer, without having that fat be exposed to the air. That increases the survival rate of the fat cells because it hasn’t been exposed or manipulated by anybody.”

Dr. George Solomon has had tremendous success performing the fat transfer procedure. Brazilian Buttock lift is just one of the areas Dr. Solomon can use fat transfer. He can also use the fat grafts to fill deeper wrinkles of the face to restore volume to the temples, cheeks, nasiolabial folds around the mouth  and can even create fuller, plumper lips. He injects the fat similarly to how he uses facial fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane and others. Instead of a synthetic filler he is using the patient’s own fat. Results can be permanent or longer lasting than the synthetic fillers.

Dr. Solomon performs both liposuction and fat transfer in his own surgical suite at Solomon Cosmetic Center located in Palm Harbor, FL. The is a convenient drive for anyone living in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, and largo.
