Watch this video by Dr. George Solomon on the most common areas that he performs the fat transfer procedure which include the face, cheeks, nasolabial folds around the mouth, lips, and chin. The other very popular fat transfer areas include the buttock and the breasts. These are the 3 most common areas Dr. Solomon uses fat transfer.
Another possible use for transfer is for people who may have a scar, perhaps in the buttock area. An example would be someone who got cortisone shots in the buttock area and they are left with a condition called fat necrosis. This condition causes a big dip in the area where the shot was injected. In this procedure we release the scar and then inject fat in the area so it causes the area so it pops out again. So scar revision is another way to utilize the fat transfer procedure.
Fat Transfer (Grafting)
Fat transfer is a type of natural soft tissue filler. It’s an excellent means of treating the loss of fat in certain usually caused by aging. Instead of using today’s popular facial fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane, Juvederm or Beletero, Dr, Solomon injects the patient’s own fat. He can also inject into larger areas of the body such as the buttock or breasts where commercial fillers would not be feasible.
During the procedure, the fat is gently removed from a predetermined body area like the abdomen, thighs, hips or knees and and then skillfully transferred to another area like the face, buttocks or breasts.
Fat transfer has been used for decades. With advancements in the technique you will now be hearing more about it. Dr. Solomon suggests it to all of his patients seeking a more youthful appearance as his preferred method.
