What is a Brow Lift?
At our cosmetic center, a brow lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure that Dr. Solomon performs in order to reposition a sagging or low brow. A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, helps minimize the creases that develop across the bridge of the nose or forehead. Healthy people who do not smoke and have realistic expectations are considered good candidates for a forehead lift. If you are interested in getting a brow lift, then you should contact Tampa cosmetic surgeon Dr. Solomon.
Preparing For A Forehead Lift
If you smoke, then you will need to quit a couple of weeks before your surgery. You will also need to stop using blood-thinning medications and herbal supplements before surgery. Smoking, blood-thinning medications, and herbal supplements can make you more susceptible to bleeding.
How Is a Brow Lift Performed?
A forehead lift procedure is performed using either an endoscopic or open technique. The open technique requires Dr. Solomon to make an incision behind the hairline. The endoscopic technique involves using a fiber-optic camera. Smaller incisions will be made behind the hairline if the endoscopic technique is used.
General anesthesia or intravenous sedation is administered prior to brow lift surgery. This procedure typically takes one or two hours to complete. You will be able to go home after your surgery.
Recovery from a Brow Lift
You can expect to experience some bruising and swelling after your brow lift surgery at our Tampa facility. These problems typically go away within two weeks. You will probably be able to return to work within one week. You will have to wait at least four weeks before you resume strenuous activity. Additionally, you may experience mild to moderate pain after this procedure, but it can be controlled with over-the-counter pain relievers such as Tylenol, Aleve, or Advil.
